Hey guys, the fall 2020 anime lineup is almost here and we are getting closer to the conclusion of the ongoing summer season. I must say, we have huge upcoming anime titles next season and they can definitely compete against some of the best that we had seen this 2020 so far. In line with this topic, I would like to share my watchlist for the fall 2020 season and hoping I could help some of you to finalize your own watchlist too in case you’re still hesitating for some anime series next season.
Before we proceed with my watchlist, I have here a schedule of the fall 2020 anime lineup listed by the ANIRADIO+ as shown below.
Now, let’s proceed with my list and I have to start it with my favorite beefcake anime in recent years.
Attack on Titan: The Final Season
Golden Kamuy Season 3
Release Date: October 5, 2020 | Studio: Geno Studio
Asirpa and Sugimoto are returning for another hilarious and absolutely fantastic anime experience for its avid viewers including me in Golden Kamuy Season 3. We will see how the story unfold after the second season left us with a cliffhanger and a major betrayal.
Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon
Release Date: October 3, 2020 | Studio: Sunrise
Hanyo no Yashahime – This is more than just nostalgia, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon is the long-awaited sequel of Inuyasha, one of my all-time favorite anime series. While I doubt that we will have a glimpse of Kagome and the old gang except for the 2 dog demon brothers Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon will give us the story of the next generation in their family. We have their daughters as the main characters this time, and while we all know that Kagome is the mother of Inuyasha’s daughter; we are all wondering who became Sesshoumaru’s wife and bear his children? Albeit our obvious answer is Rin, the cute little mortal girl he had beside him that he even risk his own life to save from the original series, but such thing is not set in stone yet.
The Irregular at Magic High School Season 2
Release Date: October 4, 2020 | Studio: 8bit
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Raihousha-hen – Who wouldn’t go crazy for Tatsuya Shiba’s return together with the whole gang from the Magic High School? Yes, after 5 whole years, Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, the siblings that we loved from The Irregular at the Magic High School are returning for the show’s 2ndseason.
Haikyuu!!: To the Top Part 2
Release Date: October 3, 2020 | Studio: Production I.G.
The second part of Haikyuu!! Season 4: To The Top is back this fall after its fantastic stint from the winter 2020 lineup. This time, the Karasuno High School Volleyball team had to challenge a powerhouse team that hinders their path towards the nationals. Noblesse
Release Date: October 5, 2020 | Studio: Production I.G.
Webtoons fans must be rejoicing as Noblesse finally get an official anime adaptation as part of Crunchyroll Originals this 2020 alongside Tower of God and God of High School. Now, are you guys ready for another action-fantasy vampire story? If I were you guys, better fasten your belt and this is gonna be a fantastic anime experience.
Jujutsu Kaisen
Release Date: October 3, 2020 | Studio: MAPPA
Here’s a shounen anime that everyone’s been hyping lately and I am one of them. I felt like having the same vibes as Parasyte: The Maxim from this series and what’s even more amazing is MAPPA’s animating it, so I am pretty confident that it’ll be an amazing visual anime experience. It might be next season’s best supernatural anime series with lots of demons and curses around.
The Day I Became a God
Release Date: October 11, 2020 | Studio: P.A. Works!
Kamisama ni Natta hi – From the creator of Angel Beats! and Charlotte comes another drama-fantasy anime that will rip our hearts apart for various reasons. As a sucker for drama anime and due to the notoriety of Charlotte and Angel Beats!, I am seriously digging up on this story.
TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You
Release Date: October 3, 2020 | Studio: Seven Arcs
Tonikaku Kawaii – Here comes a romance-comedy anime that will make us fall in love over and over again. Upon ready the synopsis, I felt like having the Tsuki ga Kirei vibes and I know, this will be a romantic ride I have to see this fall and how it will unfold.
By the Grace of the Gods
Release Date: October 4, 2020 | Studio: Maho Film
Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko – From the relatively young studio that gave us If It’s For My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord, here comes another adventure-fantasy anime that many of us may enjoy. This is another isekai anime and to be honest, I am getting the same vibes as Ascendance of a Bookworm from this upcoming anime. Just by looking at the previously released visuals, I think I’ll enjoy this anime since it’s my usual cup of tea.
Danmachi Season 3
Release Date: October 3, 2020 | Studio: J.C. Staff
Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka III – Bell and Hestia are back for the 3rdseason of Danmachi and I am eagerly waiting to see this after the delightful experience that I had from the anime’s previous season last year.
Fire Force Season 2
Release Date: Ongoing | Studio: David Production
Enn Enn no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou – Fire Force continues its story this fall as Shinra and the gang is looking for ways to stop the Evangelist and her White Clads from destroying the world by learning more about the pillars and the truth behind the Great Cataclysm and the Amaterasu.
Higurashi: When They Cry (2020)
Release Date: October 1, 2020 | Studio: Passione
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (2020) – The new anime of Higurashi is now coming this fall after its delay from the spring 2020 lineup. As one of the best horror-psychological anime, fans can expect for gore, blood, and psychologically twisted drama that will play with our minds in the most creepy way possible. While I am not a huge fan of the genre, I simply believe that I have to see this reboot.
Moriarty the Patriot
Release Date: October 11, 2020 | Studio: Production I.G.
Yuukoku no Moriarty – Here’s the 3rd entry of Production I.G. in my watchlist for the fall 2020 anime season. Moriarty the Patriot will present us with a psychological-mystery ride that will pose questions about society and what has been socially accepted by humans. I can’t hide the fact, that I am having a Black Butler impression from this upcoming anime.
Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle
Release Date: October 6, 2020 | Studio: Doga Kobo
Maoujou de Oyasumi – I am not expecting too much from this anime but I always wanted to have some slice of life and comedy anime in my watchlist just to keep myself from stress and I’ll have the Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle to fill out the role.
I’m Standing on a Million Lives
Release Date: October 2, 2020 | Studio: Maho Film
100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatte Iru – I am quite hesitant to add this on my watchlist but I think I’ll give it a chance and check some episodes first. The synopsis looks generic and it reminds me of Isekai Cheat Magician (what a horrible experience), but I’ll keep my expectation a bit low so I won’t get disappointed if it’s bad, or I’ll be surprised if it turns out to be good.
Akudama Drive
Release Date: October 8, 2020 | Studio: Pierrot
Originally scheduled for release for the summer 2020 lineup, Akudama Drive was moved in fall. My shounen side is telling me to add this in my watchlist but I am not expecting too much from this anime too. Hoping it will surprise me.
And these were all the anime series I had on my watchlist next season. Although, I may add some more as I always try to watch at least 20 anime series every season, and if I did discover some hidden gems that I haven’t listed here yet, rest assured that I’ll include it so you guys can check it too. If you wish to check the fall 2020 lineup for the Chinese anime series, you may check our post: Chinese Anime List for Fall 2020 Lineup.
So, let me know guys, which anime airing in fall 2020 made it in your watchlist? Please drop your comment below.
