Enn Enn no Shouboutai or simply known as Fire Force had been one of the most stunning and hyped anime of 2019 which eventually landed at no. 22 in our list of Top 40 anime from last year. And during the finale of the anime’s 1stseason, we’d been treated immediately to a great and burning surprise which is the announcement of Fire Force 2nd season which will be released this 2020. That was actually lit news, isn’t it? Obviously, I am one of those fans who’d been craving to see more from Fire Force as I felt like the progress of the story from the previous season is quite slow while leaving so many exciting plots that made the viewers crave for more.

In this post, I will discuss some stuffs that we could look forward in the upcoming Fire Force Season 2 (Enn Enn no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou) which literally mean – Fire Force 2nd Chapter as we follow the journey of our main protagonist Shinra on his quest to look for his younger brother who had been brainwashed by the member of the White Clad under the leadership of the Evangelist. Just before the previous season concluded, we had a glimpse of what kind of evil organization the White Clad is and it also leaves us questioning who is this so-called Evangelist and how powerful he/she really is. Furthermore, that character Haumea who appeared during the last few episodes of the 1st season just really gained my ire which I want to see her get beaten as soon as possible and this desire is fueling my excitement for Fire Force season 2.

Let’s take a look first at Fire Force as a whole before we proceed. Introducing Fire Force, it’s one of the biggest shounen anime of 2019 (and probably among the list with best animation sequence) which was based on the manga Enn Enn no Shouboutai (Blazing Firefighting Corps) by Atsushi Oukubo. The anime’s 1st season was adapted by David Production and aired from July 5, 2019 until December 27, 2019.

Fire Force Plot

Shinra Kusakabe is a third-generation pyrokinetic youth who gained the nickname “Devil’s Footprints” for his ability to ignite his feet at will. He joins Special Fire Force Company 8, which features other prokinetics who dedicated themselves to ending the Infernal attacks for good while investigating Companies 1 through 7 for potential corruption in their ranks. Shinra begins to learn that his younger brother’s abduction during the fire that killed their mother 12 years ago is caused by a mysterious doomsday cult that is behind the Infernal attacks. Company 8 and their allies oppose the White Cloaks and their Knights of the Ashen Flame, who seek certain individuals like Shinra and his brother (Sho) to enact a scheme to repeat the Great Disaster.

Fire Force Season 2 Release Date

Fire Force season 2 release is scheduled in July 3, 2020 as part of the summer 2020 anime lineup. The announcement for the anime’s 2ndseason had been made right after the finale of its 1st season and that it will be called Fire Force 2nd Chapter which comes with a teaser visual and a short commercial streamed on the anime’s official YouTube channel. With this announcement, Fire Force 2nd season is among the most anticipated and biggest upcoming anime of 2020.

It is expected that the cast and staff from the previous season of the anime will be reprising their role in the upcoming 2nd season of Fire Force which includes the following:

While the opening and ending theme song for Fire Force season 2 is not announced yet, I am hoping that any of the performing artists from the previous season are returning since the anime really have some of the best openings and ending theme of 2019.

There’s no full official trailer yet for the anime’s upcoming 2ndseason. However, we have here the announcement video which was streamed on the anime’s YouTube Channel for its upcoming 2nd season in July 2020.

Obviously, Fire Force anime season 2 will revolve around how Shinra will search for his younger brother while also discovering the motives of the White Clad. What’s even more exciting is what will be the next action of the various Special Fire Force Divisions and how they will deal with the growing threat of the Evangelist. Will, they finally unite, or will they face this threat individually? Nonetheless, the previous season had shown us that a possible team-up of various groups with the 8th Division at the center might be happening in the story soon which makes me excited even more.
