Fans had been waiting for this ever since the announcement has been made after the successful stint of its prequel movie The Legend of Hei.
The sequel was actually expected to air last year after speculations that the beloved web series is coming back as an official donghua adaptation and the crew from the movie returning to animate it. It was later confirmed Chinese media company bilibili which listed The Legend of Luo Xiao Hei or officially titled Luo Xiaohei Zhan Ji: Zhongsheng Zhi Men or some fans simply calls as The Legend of Luo Xiaohei Season 2 to differentiate it from the original web series that was independently released by its original creator MTJJ.

I have first known about The Legend of Luo Xiao Hei when Zhihua, one of our content contributors here in the blog published short news about it when its prequel movie was announced. It has been one of my favorite donghua ever since after I have finished watching the film, The Legend of Hei which was a visual spectacle and a story with plenty of lessons to learn from.
But what is Luo Xiaohei Zhan Ji: Zhongsheng Zhi Men, why do Chinese people love it and why should foreign viewers include this in this watchlist?
The popular and beloved Chinese web series is created by MTJJ (Zhang Ping in real life), he animated the series on his own during the early stages of its production and release it online for free. As the series’ popularity soar and reached wider audiences, he started earning revenues from it through merchandising which help him establish a small yet dedicated team for the project.
Synopsis
The story begins on a rainy night when a homeless little black cat is brought home by a young girl Luo Xiaobai. She names the cat Luo Xiaohei. However, Luo Xiaohei is no ordinary cat: he is a supernatural entity that hosts several small creatures called Heixiu.
