Filipino-made Basketball Anime “Barangay 143” Unveiled its Official Trailer, Casts & Premiere Date

Another reason to have a “Proud to be Pinoy” statement is finally here, Barangay 143 revealed its casts and premiere date on a latest official sneak peek from Synergy88 Entertainment, August Media, TV Asahi, and ASI Studios. 

Considered to be the first huge Philippine-made anime series, Barangay 143 is your typical basketball story in the streets of the Philippines with a touch of drama and Pinoy culture. 

With the tagline of “Handa na ba kayo sa liga ng buhay (Are you ready for the league of life)?” Barangay 143 will air on October 13, 2018 on GMA Network for its national premiere.
Barangay 142 anime project had been first announced in 2016 as a collaborative effort between Synergy88, a Philippine-based animation and game development studio and the Japanese television network, TV Asahi.

The voice cast for the anime will feature an all-star ensemble such as Julie Ann San Jose, Cherie Gil, Edu Manzano, and John Arcilla to name a few.

“Barangay 143” ensemble cast are Paolo Contis as Koboy, Raver Eda as Buchoy, Cherie Gil as Sophia, John Arcilla as Coach B, Ruru Madrid as Wax, Kelley Day as Jinri, Julie Anne San Jose as Vicky, Migo Adecer as Bren T. Park, Edu Manzano as Commissioner, and Sylvia Sanchez as Tita Baby.
