A new anime project slated for 2016 has been announced and it is titled Qualidea Code. The upcoming anime was revealed by Speakeasy, Marvelous, and the “Qualidea Production Committee” in the Jump Festa event that took place in Tokyo this Saturday – December 19. A website for the film has been opened and currently streaming the first promotional video of Qualidea Code. The Qualidea Code is a part of an overall multimedia project by the combined forces of five publishers: Shueisha‘s Dash X Bunko imprint, Kadokawa‘s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint, Kadokawa‘s MF Bunko J imprint, Shogakukan‘s Gagaga Bunko imprint, and Shueisha‘s Jump SQ. magazine.

Qualidea Code Anime Project Story

In order to protect the country from the [UNKNOWN] emerging from Tokyo Bay Gate, the boys and girls wage battles in the defense cities of Tokyo, Kanagawa and Chiba.
The anime takes place in a world where humans are continuing to fight a war against an enemy called UNKNOWN. UNKNOWN invaded several decades ago, and children entered a cold sleep to escape the invasion. When the children awoke, they found themselves with supernatural powers. The children set up defense cities in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Chiba in order to protect the country from the UNKNOWN, who appear through the Tokyo Bay Gate.

The author unit of the project, Speakeasy is made up of Sou Sagara, Koushi Tachibana, and Wataru Watari. They are in charge of the original concept of Qualidea Codeproject together with Marvelous. These three authors are also handling and writing the scripts of the upcoming anime.  Each of them are handling different story of the multimedia project: Sou Sagara is in charge of the Tokyo story, Koushi Tachibana is in charge of the Kanagawa story, and Wataru Watari is in charge of the Chiba story.
Directing Qualidea Code anime projectis Kenichi Kawamura at A-1 Pictures. Providing the original character designs for the anime is Matsuryū, and adapting those designs for animation is Hisayuki Tabata. The music for the anime project is composed by Taku Iwasaki.
