Live action is a great way to see your favorite anime characters come to life. Here are some anime that should definitely have their live action movie. Let’s check these out!
Samurai Champloo
Shinichiro Watanabe’s Samurai Champloo |
There are many anime fans who just love Shinichiro Watanabe. He is the creator of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. Though Samurai Champloo is not widely recognized as Cowboy Bebop, it deserves something much better. In this anime, you will find Watanabe’s ability to combine any genre of music with any setting. In this anime, we see Edo Japan come together with hip-hop. Even though the anime is on par with Cowboy Bebop, it has been left on the wayside for live-action production.
Claymore
Norihiro Yagi’s Claymore |
Claymore has some badass female leads. The anime is placed in a pseudo-medieval world, where a small army of women is able to use supernatural powers against man-eating monsters. Claymore is much like The Witcher: The Anime, just without the Game of Thrones political intrigue. Claymore has it all, the combination of dark fantasy with strong female protagonists. Hence, a live-action adaption will totally hit it off with Claymore.
Summer Wars
Mamoru Hosoda’s Summer Wars |
Anime with computer programs involved usually focus on the singular point of destruction. However, in Summer Wars, this is just a B-plot. It is very skillfully woven together with a story of family, teamwork, and community. It is a masterpiece with many awards under its belt, a definite to make you cry kind of movie. If this anime movie is turned into a live-action adaption, people who never paid a second thought to the original will definitely turn towards it.
.hack//SIGN
Kōichi Mashimo’s .hack//Sign |
The theme of Sword Art Online has been done before, and better. The 2002’s .hack//SIGN follows almost the same pattern of SAO. however, instead of thousands of players getting stuck in a game, only one character gets stuck. The entire story of .hack//SIGN is a mystery revolving around the hows and whys. The audience finds out the answer along with the protagonists. It is a superior show that probes the philosophical issues like existentialism. Because of its superiority to Sword Art Online, it definitely deserves a live-action adaption.
If any of these anime gets a live-action adaption, I am most certainly getting the front seats to watch these. These anime are hardcore; therefore, they deserve some hardcore appreciation.
