In the past few years, we had seen dozens of anime series adapted into a live-action films or series. This time, one of the mainstream anime and probably most popular franchise in today’s generation is joining live-action bandwagon and that’s no other than the adventurous and comical pirates in search of ONE PIECE. Yeah, you have read it right, the phenomenal and one of the longest anime franchise in anime history will have a holly live-action adaptation.
According to Weekly Shonen Jump editor-in-chief Hiroyuki Nakano, the show will be turned into an overseas/foreign drama and handling it is the Hollywood producer Marty Adelstein’s Tomorrow ITV Studios. The studio is also the company behind the live-action remake of Cowboy Bebop. Although this is not the first time that One Piece will be getting a live-action, this one will be the first foreign made.
The hollywood live-action project for One Piece receives a positive approval from One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda as he believes that foreign TV dramas tend to have bigger budgets which will provide a better effects for the exciting tale of adventure of the Straw Hat pirates.
