A series of short animated scenes has been unveiled last Saturday by the Kickstarter-funded anime project Under the Dog. The video confirms that the staff of the project is aiming to complete the episode and make it available in May 2016 for the project’s backers. Aside from the short animated scenes, the website also revealed two more cast members for the project. They are chosen based on the backer votes, these two cast members are Haruka Takahashi who will play Sayuri, and Naomi Ōzora who will play Estella. They will join the previously announced cast members: Asami Seto as Anthea Kallenberg, Rumi Ookubo as Hana Togetsu, and Kouki Uchiyama as Shunichi Nanase.
The project intends to deliver the tradition of older science-fiction anime titles such as the Akiraand Ghost in the Shell. The anime is directed by Masahiro Ando based on the story by Jirō Ishii. The character designs were drawn by Yuusuke Kozaki, and Kinema Citrus is in charge of the animation. The 3D CGI is handled by Orange Co.
Under the Dog anime project is managed by Kinema Citrus after the departure of Creative Intelligent Arts (CIA) founder and CEO Hiroaki Yura, the original producer.
