Assassination Classroom is one of the most popular series of 2015 and there’s no doubt that many fans are excited for the show to return in 2016. In fact, the 53rd issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine finally revealed that Assassination Classroom Season 2 premiere date is January 7. The new season of the anime will premiere on Fuji TV and Kansai TV, the show will also air on several channels such as Tokai TV, BS Fuji, etc.
The main staff from the first season of Assassination Classroomwill return in season 2. Among the returning cast is Seiji Kishi who will direct the anime at studio Lerche. Joining Kishi as the staff of the show is Kazuaki Morita serving as the character designer, and Makoto Uezu who is writing the scripts for the anime.
The first season of Assassination Classroom aired 22 episodes and it was based on Yusei Matsui’s manga of the same name, the anime premiere in Japan on January 9, 2015. Eventually, it became one of the biggest anime hit of the year, inspiring a live-action film adaptation which opened in Japan on March 21. In addition, there’s a second film and it is slated for release in spring of 2016.
