The light novel series “Accel World” by Sword Art Online author Reki Kawahara receives a brand new anime adaptation titled Accel World: Infinite Burst. The new anime project was announced during the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2015 together with the revelation of the Sword Art Online anime film, which is based from another work of Kawahara. The light novel series author is writing the story for this new Accel World anime series and it will feature new characters. Footage of the new anime were unveiled in the event, however the format wasn’t specified.
The staff and cast from the first Accel World anime series are back for this new anime project.

The year is 2046. Haruyuki Arita is a young boy who finds himself on the lowest social rungs of his school. Ashamed of his miserable life, Haruyuki can only cope by indulging in virtual games. But that all changes when Kuroyukihime, the most popular girl in school, introduces him to a mysterious program called Brain Burst and a virtual reality called the Accel World.
