RIN-NE (Kyōkai no Rinne) Season 2 to Premiere in Spring 2016

The anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s RIN-NE (Kyōkai no Rinne) manga gets a second season which will premiere on spring of 2016 according to NHK’s Anime World Blog. Kyōkai no Rinne Season 2 will introduce new characters and will have 25 episodes run. A new visual was introduced by the staff featuring some of the new characters in the series.

Kyōkai no Rinne Season 2 Plot:

The shinigami (god of death) Rinne Rokudō, and Sakura Mamiya, the girl who can see ghosts, attend the same school. The two spend their days solving the worries of spirits. Rinne is so poor that he is forced to borrow money from Sakura to buy shinigami tools to solve their cases. Rinne and Sakura care for each other, but their relationship is not progressing. However, with the appearance of a new contracted black cat, a beautifuldamashigami (cheating god), and a person with whom Rinne shares a special circumstance, the situation becomes even more chaotic! Rinne and Sakura’s after-school time wrapped up in the world of spirits continues!

The first season of Kyōkai no Rinne premiered last April 4, 2015 on the public broadcaster NHK’s E Tele channel. The anime series was licensed for North American release by Sentai Filmworks.
Rumiko Takahashiwas also the creator of several manga such as Maison Ikkoku, Inuyasha (a personal favorite of mine)Urusei Yatsuraand the popular Ranma ½ which was also adapted into an anime way back in the 90’s.
