For all the Chinese anime fans, it is the time of the year again – the annual Tencent Video Animation 2022 Conference where the giant donghua production company has unveiled their set of upcoming Chinese anime of 2023 as well as for the remaining months of the year.
Tencent Video Animation 2022 Conference
Many fans had been eagerly waiting for this annual event because Tencent Penguin Pictures along with their partners are posting the list of their upcoming Chinese anime projects that have been slated for release on the Tencent Video platform. Furthermore, this is also an opportunity to introduce new donghua adaptations as well as confirm the returns of highly anticipated sequels, and such has been the tradition these past few years.
This year, Tencent Video Animation 2022 Conference took place last August 8, I remember we also have the same date last year. Hence, August 8 must have been a lucky year for donghua fans as well as for Tencent I must say. The annual conference has revealed several new Chinese anime from Tencent as well as returning sequels of big series that we had in recent years.

Without further ado, let’s check all the donghua that Tencent Video Animation has unveiled during their event which includes the big names such as Soul Land, Perfect World, The King’s Avatar Season 3, Battle Through The Heavens, Spare Me Great Lord! Some of these donghua had been previously unveiled at the 2020 and 2021 annual conferences such as Biao Ren: Blades of the Guardians, Martial God Asura, Renegade Immortal, Silent House, Shrouding the Heavens, The Legendary Mechanic, and many more.
However, some titles were previously revealed but haven’t aired yet and didn’t list in this year’s event such as The Lord of Mysteries, Warm Sun, AWM: PUBG Mobile, Silent Reading, Scumbag System 2, and some more. So, we’re wondering if something happened with its production, if it’s been canceled off, or is still in production but not part of Tencent’s lineup anymore.
Nonetheless, Tencent does not usually reveal all their arsenal and still drops off some surprises every once in a while and that’s one thing we should watch out for in the next few months and even next year.
Of all these titles, only 3 shows had their release date available and that is Dragon Raja which is scheduled for release on August 19, Non-Human Season 6 on August 10, and the vampire romance donghua Sweet Bite Marks slated for release on September 1, 2022. While some of the donghua on the list were already airing such as A Will Eternal Season 2, Battle Through The Heavens Season 5, Soul Land, and Jade Dynasty to name a few.
