10 Manhua Like Da Wang Rao Ming (Spare Me, Great Lord!)

The donghua (Chinese anime) adaptation of Da Wang Rao Ming (Spare Me, Great Lord!) has been quite surprising and fans had been invested in it, all thanks to its good animation and taking the path of showing the cultivation trope in another light compared to the classic xinxia and xuanhuan donghua that we often have.

Following the story of an orphan named Lu Shu and his cultivation journey which looks rather unique.

The Ultimate Scheming System

Zuiqiang Fan Taolu Xitong | A journey of cultivation through scheming, this manhua will give you the same atmosphere as when reading Da Wang Rao Ming which features an anti-hero. The Ultimate Scheming System manhua is written and drawn by Chu Ying She, and Taishang Buy is credited for the original story. It was first released in 2017 and is still an ongoing series now. Interested fans can read it on Webnovel and Tencent Comics.

The Daily Life of the Immortal King

Xianwang De Richang Shenghuo | To all the excitement of many donghua fans, Da Wang Rao Ming had been often compared to The Daily Life of the Immortal King, both series feature a teenage boy and his friends in their high school days and they’re both exceptionally overwhelming and low-key. Starting along with The Daily Life of the Immortal King donghua adaptation, the web novel was also adapted into a manhua in 2020 written by Xi He, and drawn by Yueling Wu, with Xuan Ku credited for the original story. It was published on Bilibili Comics and Manhua Archive.

The Pinnacle of Martial Arts

Wu Lian Dian Feng | Also known as Martial Peak, here’s one of those classic and typical Chinese cultivation manhua that we often have out there. It is a story of an arduous journey toward the peak of the martial arts world and cultivation. It was first published in 2013 by Pikapi who wrote and drew the manhua, with the original story credited to Momo. For readers who want to check it out, it is available on its official pages on WeComics and Tencent Comics.

The Supreme Urban Heavenly Master

This action and fantasy manhua is adapted from a web novel written by Beastly which was first published in 2019 through Tencent Comics. This is also a hilarious ride, a harem story that many fans of Da Wang Rao Ming might find familiar.

Above All Gods

Zun Shang | Here’s an action and adventure-fantasy story that truly feels Chinese in many aspects. There’s the common trope of reincarnation in this story that will remind you of many antics from various xinxia and xuanhuan donghua. Above All Gods is an original Chinese manhua by Manke Wenhua (who is known for writing manhua such as Trample On The River Of Immortality, and Godly Mobile Game). The manhua can be read by fans on Onemanhua.

The First Sequence (The First Order)

Diyi Xulie | Lost civilization, post-apocalyptic, and plenty of politics, The First Sequence is an exciting Chinese manhua to read that features handsome male characters. Kidding aside, this one is the manhua like Da Wang Rao Ming that I felt everyone needs to read the most. The main character was also able to upgrade his power by absorbing energy, just like how Lu Shu is absorbing negative emotions in Da Wang Rao Ming to strengthen himself.

The manhua is adapted from a web novel of the same title by Hui Shuohua de Zhouzi (surprised). Yeah, this manhua is adapted from a novel written by the same author as Da Wang Rao Ming and is also scheduled to have a donghua adaptation with the title of The First Order from Passion Paint Animation in collaboration with Tencent Animation & Comics, China Literature, and Bilibili. You can check it on Tencent Comics.

The Nine-Star Technique

Also known by other names such as Nine Star Hegemon Body Art, and Secret Arts of the Nine Star Tyrant Body; this Chinese manhua like Da Wang Rao Ming is an action-packed journey. This fantasy manhua was created by Zha Ya Studio and adapted from a web novel titled Nine Star Hegemon Body Art by the author Ordinary Magician. The manhua was published in 2020 and can be read on Wecomics and Tencent Comics.

Rebirth of the Top Villain

Dingji Fanpai Dashi Xiong | Rebirth of the Top Villain is both an exciting and hilarious story to follow. It feels like any xinxia donghua that we had with an OP main character. However, the twist is that the top villain who is used to playing the hard mode ended up on a new journey as he was reborn and everyone had been inferior to him. So, that’s technically going into a simple or casual mode, isn’t it? The manhua is adapted from a web novel by Bayue Fei Ying and written by Qi Miao Yu with arts by Nuo En. Avid manhua readers can check it on Bilibili Comics and Tencent Comics.

I’m actually a Cultivation Bigshot

If you like JX3 donghua and many donghua and manhua with a rather shameless protagonist, I’m Actually a Cultivation Bigshot is the right manhua for you. With its story centered on Eastern fantasy, this is a xinxia manhua that will never fail in giving fans the excitement and entertainment that we all need. It was written by Kinoshita Nakui and published on Webnovel.

I Might Be A Fake Cultivator

I Might Be A Fake Cultivator

Wo Xiu Di Keneng Shi Jiaxian | Alright, so here’s another funny and entertaining Chinese manhua for fans of Da Wang Rao Ming. It feels like a parody at first, but it shares elements with many comedy donghua and manhua out there. So, we have a hopeless MC who was saved by an immortal god from a loan shark only to find out that he had been pranked. Now, this is a story that dares to be a cultivation story but tries to defy its cliches but still remains grounded in it.

It is adapted from a web novel of the same title by Mingyue Dishang Shuang. The manhua is written and drawn by Yuewen Manhua (known for many manhuas such as Release That Witch, Cinderella Chef, and My Girlfriend is a Zombie). I Might Be A Fake Cultivator is also getting a donghua adaptation from Chongzhuo Animation and is listed as part of the Bilibili 2022 Chinese anime lineup. Fans can read the manhua on Webnovel and Tencent Comics.
