The most popular donghua today will now come in paired as Soul Land’s sequel, and the second book from the novel series is also getting a Chinese anime adaptation from Tencent and Sparkly Key Animation. Soul Land 2: The Unrivaled Tang Sect which focuses on the new generation of Shrek’s Seven Devils will be the highlight of the new donghua titled Douluo Dalu 2: Jueshi Tangmen. Among the new generation of young warriors that we will follow are descendants of the original main characters of Soul Land with one of them being Tang San and Xiao Wu’s eldest daughter, Tang Wutong, who will be the love interest of the MC.

Douluo Dalu 2: Jueshi Tangmen Anime Announcement
During the Tencent Video Animation Annual Conference last August 8, 2021; it was revealed that Douluo Dalu 2: Jueshi Tangmen is among the upcoming projects from the Chinese giant company. This is a big surprise but at the same time expected, knowing how the ongoing Soul Land donghua adaptation had been dominating the market among local viewers of Chinese animation.
Soul Land 2 donghua was even more hyped as the official page of Douluo Dalu has been posting updates about it such as promotional videos and sceneries to tease the fans while the 1st series is closing to its denouement. As Soul Land (Douluo Dalu) reached its conclusion on June 10, 2023; it was finally announced that the sequel will take over its spot as it will be released the following week on June 24. It was accompanied by a trailer featuring the new MC Huo Yuhao, who was a descendant of Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing.
Douluo Dalu 2: Jueshi Tangmen or Soul Land 2: The Unrivaled Tang Sect is based on the 2nd novel of Tang Jia San Shao from the Soul Land series. While the first series revolves around Tang San, Xiao Wu, and his companions; Douluo Dalu 2: Jueshi Tangmen will highlight their descendants in action after thousands of years had passed to reignite the glory of the Tang Sect which has already declined. It will continue delivering the same old antics from its prequel which includes a battle competition of academies and sects, magical technology, martial spirits, and its signature romance cliche. The novel had been published in 2012 with over 622 chapters and can be read on Qidian, Novel Updates, and Wuxiaworld.
Aside from the upcoming donghua, the novel was also adapted into manhua which was published on November 22, 2012 with story and art by Jueshi Tang Men Manhua Chuangzuo Zu, and original story credited to Tang Jian San Shao. Animation Studio & Release Date
According to the latest announcement of Tencent after the finale of the Soul Land donghua adaptation, it was revealed that Soul Land 2 release date is scheduled on June 24, 2023. It will occupy the timeslot that was previously assigned to its prequel. Hence, this making it a continuous journey for avid fans of the series, and it is scheduled to have 52 episodes.
It’ll be animated by Sparkly Key Animation and produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures, the studio behind its prequel, Soul Land (Douluo Dalu) which had been the most-watched donghua of 2020 and had been a huge hit among viewers of Chinese animation since its release in 2017.
