The Island of Siliang Characters, 2021’s Chinese Anime Overview

Juan Siliang or also known as The Island of Siliang, formerly known as the Deity Introspection from Year Young Culture and Tencent had been released on June 14, 2021; and we’ve been treated to a gorgeous adventure on a mysterious island filled with drama and heaven’s conspiracy.

Now, that the donghua had officially aired and fans can watch it legally on Tencent Video and WeTV, let’s get to know the different characters from the Island of Siliang and what roles will they play in the exciting love story of an immortal boy and a mortal girl in the land where dangers loom and everybody has their own personal agenda.

The Island of Siliang Characters

Here, let’s meet the Island of Siliang characters, their story and personality, their motives, and many more. Without further ado, let’s start this introduction with the character in the centers of their story and the only known mortal on the island, Tu Li.

Tu Li

She was the main character of The Island of Siliang and the adopted daughter of Zhang Zhen and Ying Mo of the Shang Family, one of the major houses in the island until their total obliteration several 10 years before the story took place. Old man Heng Lingxu then took care of her afterward. She’s the only person on the island that can swim in the sea, or touch the saltwater because she’s human, the descendants of the gods could perish upon contact with it due to the curse of heaven; making the island surrounded by the sea a prison to them.

Tu Li is vibrant, cheerful, dexterous, and sweet. She can be both righteous and naughty but that’s only her human instinct. Will she be able to leave the island successfully and uncovered the truth behind the deaths of her adopted parents?

Jing Xuan

He was the son of Zhang Zhen and Ying Mo and the adopted brother of Tu Li. He was thought to be dead along with his entire family but Feng Mian saved him albeit he’d been hiding his real identity since then until he grows to become a handsome, strong, and determined man, unwavering and willing to unmask the secret of the Siliang island to clear his family’s reputation and avenged them.

Xiao Ji

An outsider, his boat was washed in the shore of the Island of Siliang where Tu Li found them. He is the new mortal on the island, he was previously tasked by the Emperor to search for immortals and bring them to the imperial court. Now, that he had found the place populated by the gods’ descendants, will he be able to bring one back home and he too, will be devoured by the conspiracy on the island?

Xu Lingxi

The lady of the Xu family was raised in a strict household where discipline and grace matter the most. As a woman, she has to act accordingly. However, she has a silly personality hiding deep inside and only wishes to be free from the chains that bound her to the expectations of her family, the people, and the island. Will her unexpected encounter with mortals will change her fate? She’s one of the main characters to watch out for in the Island of Siliang along with Tu Li, Jing Xuan, and Xiao Ji.

Xu Linglong

This adorable boy is the young master of the Xu family and the little brother of Lingxi. He acts just like any other boy but he also had a sense of maturity compared to kids of his age. He knows how the system works on the island and was brave to mess around at times with the adults and reason out even with the elders. He had quite a close sister and brother relationship with Tu Li.

Feng Mian

This divine beauty is a figure that lives in her own rhythm of time. Unlike the descendants of the gods, she’s a real deity who got trapped accidentally in the Island of Siliang during her time of wandering the world. She’s the oldest being on the island and determined to be free from the bound of the island, and will use any means for her to achieve it. She’s a voice of reason and at the same a stubborn figure. She’s one of the 3 elders of the island along with the heads of Xu and Cheng families.

Xu Family

One of the great families in Siliang Island that also holds great influence among the netizens and values beauty and righteousness.

Xu Mohai

She’s the matriarch of the Xu family, her elderly appearance is equipped with wisdom accumulated through years of experience and she only desires for her Xu family to live on the island and return to heaven.

Xu Yan

She’s the mother of Lingxi and Linglong and a newly elected elder in the island’s council. She was seen supporting her mother Xu Mohai and provides a sound argument to her as they usually only concerned about the safety of their own family above everything else while being warry of the Cheng family.

Xu Yin

The husband of Xu Yan is often seen together and provides support to his wife. The donghua often featured Xu Yan and Yin bickering against Cheng Rong from their rival family on some occasions.

Cheng Family

The Cheng family is one of the great families of the Island of Siliang. They are powerful and influential and boast in their brute strength and destructive power.

Cheng Hou

The head of the Cheng family and one of the elders of the island. He is strong and determined, can be stubborn at times, and only follows his own beliefs and resolves. His wish for the Cheng family’s domination on the island.

Cheng Rong

The daughter of Cheng Zhou and mother of Cheng Wei and Cheng Xuan. She was often seen supporting or following her father around and talking bad about their rival Xu family.

Cheng Ran

The son-in-law of the Cheng family. In a household where power and strength rule, Cheng Ran keeps sound logic and able to establish himself as the voice of reason when the Cheng family may seem to go on fury. However, it seems that he holds some secret deep within and not a simple person at all. Does he have anything to do with the conspiracy that annihilated the Shang family, or does he know the true culprit from the very start?

Cheng Wei

The elder son of the Cheng family. He was proud and boastful, very typical of those from his family. He was seen often clash or teasing the mortal Tu Li and the young Linglong.

Cheng Xuan

The younger brother of Cheng Wei with a different personality than his older brother. He was reserved and cares deeply for Lingzi, and often seen being shy and easily intimidated.

Shang Family

Shang Zhen

The patriarch and the adopted father of Tu Li and the biological father of Jing Xuan. 10 years before the start of the story, He leads his household using mechanisms and divine artifacts he created and designed to escape the Siliang Island but failed. His entire household loses their lives in that tragedy, except for Tu Li and Jiang Xuan who had survived. The cause of the failures of their attempt was seemed to be sabotage by someone else.

Ying Mo

The doting adopted mother of Tu Li and, wife of Shang Zhen. She’s the biological mother of Jing Xuan and a real beauty. She died in the first episode after her husband attempted to escape the island had failed.

Heng Lingxu

A former elder on the island who lives in seclusion. He took Tu Li under his care when the Shang family had died. He seems to hold great influence on the island and even in heaven, that even the heads of the Cheng and Xu family are warry to upset him. However, it seems that Jing Xuan also posed himself as elder Heng.

Alright, so the Island of Siliang characters that we should keep an eye on the donghua. Currently, the 3D donghua is releasing and fans can watch it on Tencent Video and WeTV, while various fansubs including izfanmade are also uploading it on their archives.
