Hitori no Shita or simply known as The Outcast is one of the most popular Chinese anime in the recent years and its 3rd season is slated to premiere this April. The fantasy action comedy anime had been a fascinating ride so far for all the viewers who had been following it. Now, few days before Hitori no Shita: The Outcast Season 3 release on April 24, we would like to share some updates about it as well as a short introduction to people who may not watch it yet.

Brief Overview – Hitori no Shita: The Outcast

For starters, Hitori no Shita: The Outcast is the anime adaptation of the popular Chinese webcomic Yi Ren Zhi Xia or literally translated as Under One Person by author Dong Man Tang and illustrator Mi Er. The webcomic was published by Tencent and originally published with the title Yi Ren (Weirdo) and with the subtitle King of the Weirdo in February 2015.
 
The fantasy action comedy webnovel was then adapted into a TV anime series Hitori no Shita: The Outcast which is a collaboration project of Chinese and Japanese production companies. The anime’s first season premiered on July 9 until September 24, 2016; it was then followed by a sequel which runs from January 16 to June 26, 2018. Both seasons were simulcast in Chinese and Japanese audiences.

Hitori no Shita: The Outcast Plot

Chou Soran was a normal college student until he gets caught up in a terrible incident in a small village while visiting his grandfather’s grave. While walking through the graveyard to pay visit to his deceased grandfather, Soran is assaulted by zombies until a mysterious girl wielding a knife appears and leads him to a confrontation with the zombies. After successfully fending off the zombies and further encounters with the knife wielding girl known as Fu Hōhō, Soran’s life begins to change as he learns that the martial arts technique taught to him by his grandfather, known as Kitaigen, is a technique being sought after by many martial arts groups with ulterior motives. The story follows Soran’s attempt to find out his grandfather’s real history and his supposed connection with Fu Hōhō.

 
The anime adaptation had been directed by Wang Xin with Kazuhiro Toda and Mitsuo Moriworking as assistant directors. Pandaniumanimated Hitori no Shita season 1 while Haoliners Animation League takes over the project on its 2nd season. The anime was streamed on Tokyo MX in Japan, bilibili in China; while an English-subtitled version also premiered on Crunchyroll.
 

In the upcoming Hitori no Shita: The Outcast season 3 一人之下3, Big Firebird Cultural Media will be its animating studio which is famous for its work on the Demonic King Chases His Wife, My Cultivator Girlfriend, and the 2020 donghua Planting Manual.

Hitori no Shita: The Outcast Season 3 Release Date

The anime will premiere on April 24, 2020 as revealed in its latest promotional videos as shown below. It will be another Tencent series in spring 2020 Chinese anime lineup after All Saints Street. Some people I know commented that the art style for the 3rd season looks different, and stated that it resembles the original comic art style which I think is cool but may take some time for the avid viewers to get used to. Although this is expected since the Hitori no Shita season 3 will be produced solely by Chinese production team.

We have here the previously released trailers and promotional videos for Hitorino Shita season 3. Some are teaser videos released by Tencent keep the hyped during the times when the anime is in long hiatus and fans are eagerly waiting for its return.
 
 
Now, it’s only a matter of days before Hitori no Shita 3rd seasonwill premiere and everybody who had been following it since 2016 should mark their calendar on April 24, 2020. If you’re wondering where you can watch Hitori no Shita season 3, then you can directly check Tencent Video as the anime is listed under its lineup. Although, I am confident that there will be sub group out there that may add Hitori no Shita season 3 in their list of projects this year so it might be available on YouTube too. [Update: June 3, 2020] No English subtitles yet is available. However, Guodong Subs is working on it right now. While the raw official episodes are available on Tencent’s v.qq.com. We will keep you updated once an English subbed version of the anime is uploaded online.
 
And according to Cuchallain from Donghua Reviews, Hitori no Shita season 3 is directed by Huang Chengxi who previously worked on some fights of My Hero Academia and Boruto, thus, we can expect for great fights in the upcoming season, and this is making me even more excited.
