Young boys and girls live under one roof and experience the ignorance and troubles of youth. The super-popular girl who is warm in style feels the bud of youthfulness, this one is enough!

Well, looking at the synopsis, it is quite easy to conclude that this story is very similar to almost every shoujo anime that we had seen so far. Whether it’ll be among the cliché shoujo anime or not, will be decided once it officially air. Somehow, I just wish it will be even better than some of the Chinese shoujo anime that we had seen so far including Psychic Princess and The Demonic King Chases His Wife.

When it comes to its source material, the manhua with the same title 怦然心动 (Heartbeat) seems to have a mixed reaction from the Chinese readers especially with the aspect of plagiarized content. Nonetheless, the viewers outside of China will have their eyes on the anime no matter what is the reaction of the Chinese viewers I may say.

A new set of key visual and promotional videos were unveiled last September 12, 2019, giving us a glimpse at the quality of animation and visuals of the anime. The animation quality is actually superb and reminds me of the works of Kyoto Animation with so much radiance and beauty in it. The visual looks fantastic and dreamy to the eyes. I definitely get the Hyouka vibes from the first PV of My Heart Leaps Up.

As of now, no specific date yet had been confirmed about the release of the anime but I think it could be on December or next year if we will base on the rotation of releases by Chinese anime. If I remember right, most of the Chinese anime from the last quarter of 2018 had premiered by last week of November and the whole month of December. So, I believe that My Heart Leaps Up release date might be around that time or possibly in 2020.

It’s pretty easy to figure out this one, its genre is shoujo – most definitely. With such cliché, it’s the type of Chinese anime that I could compare with I’m Joybo and Cupid’s Chocolates as opposed to the historical shoujo Psychic Princess. It’s also given that My Heart Leaps Up is a romance anime series that I bet we will all enjoy once it has been release.
