Chika Kudo of Kono Oto Tomare! |
Hey guys, I am back once again for another list of the best anime shows that make our 5th week of spring 2019 anime lineup fun and exciting. Personally, I felt like I’m still in ‘cloud nine’ after the events from last week but I have to proceed with this week on which many shows unveiled their 5th episode.
I believed that this week hit us more emotionally with so many dramatic impulsive waves coming on us from different shows. Well, this week most of the anime really thrives on sentimentality which heavily gave us a nostalgic trip and fragile impulses.
This week, we do have changes from our previous chart and it couldn’t be more exciting and awesome as this time around. Personally, this is one of my personal favorite weeks as my sentimental heart simply enjoyed the anime episodes this week.
So, let’s start our list of 10 bestanime of spring 2019 chart – week 5 as follows:
Kono Oto Tomare!
Kono Oto Tomare! main guy – Chika Kudo |
Finally, we heard the koto being played and it is such an epic performance that I can forgive the fact that we never heard a decent koto playing ever since the first episode of the anime until just this week. Somehow, I felt like I am truly satisfied and actually still craving for more. I am looking forward to Chika and Hozoki’s character development and truly glad how sentimental is Kono Oto Tomare! episode 5 showing that backstory of Chika and his friends. Seriously, Tetsuki Takaoka is our real MVP as he saves our main guy so many times already. I felt like shipping them actually but I rather want to have Chika and Hozoki gets closer and learn more about each other.
Fruits Basket (2019)
Yuki & Kyo come to bring Tohru back home |
Oh my gosh! I just can’t forget how emotionally heartbreaking and satisfying is the 5th episode of Fruits Basket 2019 remake. Honda Tohru is such a cinnamon roll that we should protect and we couldn’t be more thankful for the two Soma guys saving her. Imagine walking in Tohru’s shoes, I, myself may have also cry but I believe I’ll definitely give a fight however it is quite hard to do that especially to people who give you shelter. I really feel her pain and I just couldn’t come to forgive her relatives though aside from Kyo and Yuki, that grandpa is also the MVP of this week’s episode. That scene literally gave me goosebumps together with Yuki’s entrance saving our princess and Kyo’s tsundere approach. In the end, I am glad that Tohru finally had a place that she could call home and it is such a heartwarming one. I can’t wait to see what other circumstances are in store for Tohru during her stay in the Soma’s household and how she will affect their lives for the better.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
Mr. Urokodaki give Tanjirou and Nezuko a hug like they are his own family. |
Alright, Tanjirou definitely gave us a satisfying demon-slaying scene from last week and it simply continues this week. Our kind protagonist finally became an official demon-hunter after the final selection with only five (5) people passed the exam including our main boy. Tanjirou returns to Sakonji Urokodaki’s house only to be greeted by now awaken Nezuko after her long deep slumber. Oh my gosh, the scene that followed is one the most epic and heartfelt one that I had ever witnessed from an anime show. Urokodaki is such a father-material in this episode and showing affection for the two children who were never related to him by blood is truly heartwarming. We finally get a glimpse too on Tanjirou’s sword and I am eagerly excited to learn what’s the meaning behind its color.
Carole & Tuesday
Carole & Tuesday on their first ever gig |
Sitting in our 4th spot is the amazing singing girl duo of Carole & Tuesday. As if last week had been a trainwreck, we were treated to a delightful dramatic mild performance by the girls in their first ever gig. No matter how advanced the society is, the world setting of Carole & Tuesday is so dirty as today’s modern society but it is not enough to deter them from hitting it big time and making miracles. I’ll say Roddy had been our MVP this week and we’re truly happy for him supporting our girls in every way he could. One more thing, Tuesday’s brother is quite a peculiar one. I just really have this feeling that he could be somehow a good guy who’ll support Tuesday in reaching her dreams. Well, I hope my thought is correct and I’ll wait for that.
Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2
The squad attacking Renier in his titan form |
First off, I felt like the 2nd episode wasn’t able to live up to my expectation from last week. We had started so high and the intensity is there when Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 begun but I felt like the excitement faded with the follow-up episode. Nonetheless, we had been treated to a magnificent fight scene between Eren and Renier in their titan form. Furthermore, that awesome animated sequence of the gang on their ODM gear is truly out of this world and breathtaking.
MIX: Meisei Story
Let’s all wecome the real ace pitcher – Touma |
This week episode covered that disappointing loss of the team during the Tokyo Tournament. However, it does have a good yet selfish explanation in the proceeding episode. Nonetheless, this week is truly an amazing one with too much drama, action, fun, and baseball drama going on with the team. All this time, I felt like Nikaidou is such a bad character – a selfish brat who doesn’t care about his time, as well as his father and their team manager. (As of today, I have watched the 6th episode already and there’s a pretty decent explanation about this but I won’t spoil it for now). Furthermore, Otomi is such a great and fierce young lady, isn’t she? I really love how she spill the beans right on the spot for big man Nikaidou to hear.
Sarazanmai
Is Sara some kind of a divinity? I so love her in this scene though |
Originally, I really felt disgusted with Sarazanmai and how bizarre it is when I first aw it’s pilot episode. Good thing is that I never dropped it from my watchlist thus I am enjoying such a great anime this season. Sarazanmai may not be everyone’s cup of tea but if we will simply go beyond its peculiar surface, we will discover that it’s a precious gem, a real deal and a show with substance. Some scenes were quite annoying though especially the repetitive shots but somehow it is also a part of every episode that I dare say I am craving for. It’s funny and beyond hilarious, the animation quality is top-notch and there’s a tinyfragment of drama on every episode that I think I’ll never get tired with. Bottom line is that everybody wants to connect and Sarazanmai is really trying its best to connect with the viewers and pass its message about friendship, family, and the sense of belonging.
One Punch Man Season 2
Metal Bat and Garou epic fights but I am not satisfied |
Alright, we had One Punch Man Season 2 Episode 5 in our 8thspot with its kind of underwhelming fight scenes between Metal Bat and Garou despite how great the story is. Nonetheless, it’s a decent episode with lots of fight scenes between heroes and monsters. Metal Bat’s younger sister is such a queen I say, I really love her and how she deals with Garou and her brother. It also feels great because we are no delving deeper into its story with the Monster Organization in the move and I couldn’t wait to see them finally made some big actions in the upcoming episodes. Saitama is also doing his casual overwhelming stuff too in Super Fight Martial Arts Tournament. I really love the concept of people’s perception of being a martial artist and a hero, I want to see more logical arguments about this issue too.
Hitori Bocchi
Nako once again back at teasing Aru’s unfortunate circumstances and we’re laughing so hard. |
If I’ll have another favorite character other than Bocchi, I’ll say it’s Aru and how unfortunate she is. This week, we had been treated to Aru’s unfortunate moment’s overload. Imagine going to your school one day wearing your uniform from your previous years, isn’t that kind of dumb? But Aru did and she actually survived such mishap. It’s even funnier that Nako intensifies those absurd funny moments while Bocchi herself is being dulled and a cinnamon roll as usual. Anyway, we all love these girls and it’s truly amazing to see such a simple anime could make our hearts satisfied and happy at the end of the day.
Bungou Stray Dogs III
Don’t mess up with the Agency or you won’t survived. |
I felt bad by having Bungou Stray Dogs listed in our 10thspot but the rest before it truly did well. Anyway, we had been treated to hilarious spying stuffs this week and learn about the Agency’s former agent whose ability is so damn lit. Furthermore, we had seen Ryunosuke Akutagawa in a different light this time, he’s quite the handsome guy, isn’t he? It’s even more explosive that he had a very beautiful younger sister on which everyone had been stalking in this episode (because they thought she’s Ryunosuke’s girlfriend) only to found out that she’s actually Gin, a port Mafia member. I rather save some details and invite you to watch the episode instead because it is really funny and entertaining.
Among our honorable mentions this week includes the following:
- Cinderella Nine in August
- Magi’s Grandson
- Fairy Gone
- We Never Learn: Bokuben
- YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World
So, that ends our list of Top 10 Anime Shows from Spring 2019 – Week 5. I am actually excited for next week as I believe that there will be some game changer in our list and I could even feel it as of now.
