The big surprise today is that The Kings Avatar prequel movie unveiled its trailer together with a new poster which revealed the release date of the film. So, to spill the beans The King’s Avatar: For the Glory release date is scheduled on August 16, 2019. Personally, I did have goosebumps while watching the trailer and it really smells like nostalgia as I badly miss the series despite the fact that this one is a prequel movie and not based from the original The King’s Avatar web novel but on prequel chapters released after the end of the novel.

In fact, there are tons of great surprises for Chinese anime viewers this summer and that is why it is going to be hotter and exciting than ever. Aside from the prequel movie, Tencent already confirmed that the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and The King’s Avatar live-drama will be released in July.

The prequel movie will revolve around Ye Xiu’s first tournament in the Glory Professional Alliance and the teams that he fought with for the race to the top of Glory.

Furthermore, The King’s Avatar Season 2 had been announced to be released on July 2 together with the second season for another amazing Chinese anime which is the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. Although there are no specific dates yet for the release of the above mention shows, it is no doubt that it’ll air this summer. On my end, I am waiting for any new promotional videos or posters to be unveiled anytime soon about these shows and I felt like my fragile heart can’t handle all of these surprises.

[Update] June 18, 2019: A new set of character posters for The King’s Avatar movie had been unveiled featuring Ye Xiu, Su Muqiu, young Su Mucheng, and the new character Lu Liang (the player of Peaceful Hermit at that time).

On a new update this June 27, a new set of key visuals for The King’s Avatar: For the Glory movie had been unveiled featuring Ye Xiu, Su Mucheng, and our umbrella guy – Su Muqiu as seen below.

 

 

 

 

 

So, what are your thoughts about The King’s Avatar prequel movie? An earlier character designs of Ye Xiu and One Autumn Leaf together with The King’s Avatar first visual had been unveiled last April accompanying the first trailer for The King’s Avatar anime season 2 which features the underwater fight from the novel.
