The previous year had been a great one and most of the anime fans were wishing for 2019 to be a good year for the anime community. And what could’ve been an even better way to start the year with excitement, fun and heavy enthusiasm than spending the first three months of the year with some of the biggest and most anticipated anime of winter 2019 chart.
Our list shall be divided into two categories: 1.) sequels or continuation of a previously existing anime series; 2.) new anime titles either an original, or adapted from a manga and novels.

Mob Psycho 100 II Key Visual |
As if things couldn’t be more bigger than this, yes we have one of the most hyped anime of 2016 this year. Mob Psycho 100 II is not as popular as its contemporaries such as My Hero Academia or Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, but it is definitely one of the most praised anime of that year. Indeed, with Mob Psycho 100 return, we could all expect for an astoundingly amazing and somehow absurd psychic-action comedy drama in the next three months.

3D Kanojo: Real Girl 2nd Season Key Poster |
The romance school anime that we followed from spring 2018 seasonal chart is back this year. In fact, this anime reminds me of I Want to Eat Your Pancreas due to some similarities of the main characters in certain ways. Nonetheless, for people who enjoyed a heavy dosage of romance, comedy, and drama; then congratulations – 3D Kanojo: Real Girl plot is definitely for you.
Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan Conclusion

Studio: J.C.Staff
Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan Conclusion Key Visual |
I’ll say that this anime series is quite underrated or maybe it doesn’t simply resonates with the preferences of the majority of anime viewers. Nonetheless, Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan Conclusion is the final installment of Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan series and is expected to give us a great farewell celebration filled with supernatural stuffs and absurd humors.
Manaria Friends

Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends Key Visual |
Also called as Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends, this is an upcoming anime that belong to Rage of Bahamut anime franchise. Just like the rest of the titles in the franchise, Manaria Friends promises to bring an interesting story filled with demons and magical stuffs to bring our fantasy on a new height.
Date A Live Ⅲ

Studio: J.C.Staff
Date A Live Ⅲ 2019 Key Poster |
I have mixed thoughts about this anime series, however it’s popularity is quite notorious. Furthermore, it is one of the comedy-harem anime of the recent years that gave us more than just plain entertainment. And this year’s Date A Live installment seems to be rather enticing and promising.
Fukigen na Mononokean: Tsuzuki
Premiere: Jan 5, 2019
Studio: Pierrot Plus
Fukigen na Mononokean 2nd Season Key Visual |
This is the 2nd season of the funny and relaxing anime Fukigen na Mononokean which never failed to bring smiles to our faces on 2016. This is one of my personal favorite anime that year due to its close resemblance with Natsume’s Book of Friends. However, this anime thrives more in the obnoxious interaction among characters that will surely give everyone’s a big laugh.
New Anime Titles (Winter 2019 Season)
The Rising of the Shield Hero
Premiere: Jan 9, 2019
Studio: Kinema Citrus
The Rising of the Shield Hero Anime 2019 Key Visual |
From the studio that brought us Made in Abyss, here’s another hyped anime that will bring so much fun in our winter 2019 anime chart. The pilot episode had been pre-aired on Dec. 27, and The Rising of the Shield Hero had been making a buzzed in the internet since then. Well, it even produced tons of memes in the past few days and if it’s not hyped, I wonder what it is. Nonetheless, the anime promises an great action-adventure premise with heavy dosage of romance and comedy paved in it.
The Promised Neverland
Premiere: Jan 11, 2019
Studio: CloverWorks
The Promised Neverland Anime 2019 |
Alright, this mystery-horror anime of the season is currently our team’s most anticipated new anime of 2019. If there is one thing that I could say about The Promised Neverland, then it’s nerve-wracking drama to the verge of its genre. Yeah, there’s a lot of thrill and drama awaiting for us in this sci-fi anime from CloverWorks.
Boogiepop Never Laughs
Premiere: Jan 4, 2019
Studio: Madhouse
Another psychological-mystery horror anime of 2019 that I personally looking forward to watch. Boogiepop Never Laughs will once again awakened those creepy thoughts that we all had from various urban legends that we learned when we were young. What’s more exciting about this anime is it both deviates and aligned with the generic cliche in its own genre. Nonetheless, this anime will be among those series that will make our winter 2019 a fantastic one.
Dororo
Premiere: Jan 7, 2019
Studio: MAPPA and Tezuka Productions
Adapted from the darkest and most cruel works of Japan’s legendary animator and manga artist – Osamu Tezuka. Dororo is a classic story that will make your anime watching habit darker, violent, suspense, and action-filled.
Kaguya-sama: Love is War
Premiere: Jan 12, 2019
Studio: A-1 Pictures
Kaguya-sama: Love is War Key Visual |
A comedy-romance with psychological flakes – that’s Kaguya-sama: Love is War. This is a rather entertaining take on the battle of feelings and pride which will give us an emotional and fun rumble of students who’s emotionally unstable as their intelligence level.
These are only few of the most recommended anime shows to look forward this winter 2019. So, which one stir up your interest? On my end, I’ll have the Promised Neverland, Boogiepop Never Laughs, and The Rising of the Shield Hero as my personal favorites. Though, there are still handful of leftover anime from the previous FALL 2018 anime lineup such as That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Sword Art Online: Alicization, Fairy Tail Final Series, and A Certain Magical Index – with the first two leftovers as included in our Top 20 Anime Series of 2018.
