A week before the official premiere of Barangay 143, the first Filipino anime series unveiled its main key visual.

The official poster shown various characters in the story that will revolved on sports-mystery cliche inspired by the modern Filipino society and their passion for basketball. Aside from the action-packed story, we could also expect for romantic stuffs and the typical but concrete core of a Filipino story, the love for the family.
Barangay 143 Plot: Barangay 143 follows the coming of age story of a young man in search of a father and how he finds an unlikely family in a team of misfits trying to bring glory to their hometown. It’s a story about love and family set against the action-packed world of street basketball, where the stakes are always high and life is the biggest game you can win.

The anime is a joint project of Philippine-based Synergy88 and Singpore’s August Media Holdings. It is produced by ASI Animation Studios with the Japanese TV network, TV Asahi assisting the production.

Barangay 143 features an ensemble cast of some of the biggest name in Philippine entertainment industry. Among the voice actors are Migo Adecer, Julie Anne San Jose, Ruru Madrid, Kelley Day, John Arcilla, Edu Manzano, and Cherie Gil.

With the tagline ‘Ito ang liga ng buhay’ (This is the league of life), Barangay 143 sets to ignite a fire and renew the Filipino’s interest towards anime by blending in the nation’s culture and timely relevant stories that viewers could relate themselves.
Barangay 143 premiere date is slated on October 21, 2018 at GMA Network, replacing Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko.
