It is always funny, exciting and intriguing how romance anime movies makes us fall in love. There’s always something special once we talk about love, it’s the mystical vibes in the air that gives us the feel. It’s even more ironic that even anime movies have that magic to make us fall in love with its fictional story and portrayal. However, it is truly a fantastic experience once an anime movies makes us go crazy over its love story and bring us into a wonderful and love drunk journey.

Therefore, we would like to share this list of anime movies that will show us how awesome it is to fall in love and how amazing it could be. I will personally bet on this, no one will deny how cheesy and romantic this movie is. Your Name. offers a fantastic adventure of teenage romance, an exciting plot twist, out-of-this-world scenery, and truly addicting soundtracks. It’s the highest grossing anime film of all time, definitely an amazing ride of emotional journey.
Whisper of the Heart
This is my favorite Studio Ghibli’s movie of all time. A simple but very honest portrayal of love and affection. A funny and interesting story to follow with great narration and scenes where many of us could truly relate ourselves to.
Only Yesterday
A nostalgic story of looking back in the past while looking forward in the future and what someone’s truly desire deep inside their heart. This is a rather cute and relaxing movie that will give us a magical ride.
Wolf Children
This is anime movie that doesn’t only portray about romance but it goes more than that. It’s a love story of a family, between a mother and her children, the faithfulness to her deceased husband, and her passion as a mother. A touching story which shows an emotional journey seen from both the mother and her children’s perspective.
The Girl Who Leapt through Time
A Silent Voice
This movie have a very powerful message and showcase the horror of bullying which is present in schools everywhere. A story of love, friendship, tragedy, and redemption that people needs to see and reflected on.
The Anthem of the Heart
Another approached towards bullying with romance and music added on its twist. This is a teen drama which could easily reflects on every teenagers real life struggles and circumstances and delivering a strong message of “expressing your real self”.
In this Corner of the World
A rather dreamy slice-of-life drama which may look dull at first but hits big time when it comes to emotional emphasis. A story involving love, drama, laughter, and death; this is an awesome journey filled with nonchalance and mystery.
Orange: Mirai
An amazing combo of drama and romance while its sci-fi element is quite a letdown. Man, the anime is really good and the movie somehow gives us a decent glimpses of what happened beyond the series. The music and animation were definitely decent and I wish I could sympathize more with Suwa.
The Place Promised in our Early Days
Tranquil setting with an intense drama in store for everyone. This anime is both romantic and achy to a fault as the drama overpowered the romance aspect. The animation and visuals are rather dreamy with exciting plot twist of science fiction and ambiguity.
Into the Forest of Fireflies’ Light
Unique and magical, Into the Forest of Fireflies’ Light offers a refuge against cliche romance story. Melancholic but relaxing, simple and romantic but engulfed with strong essence of mystery.
Ocean Waves
One of the most underrated anime movies of Studio Ghibli which offers a peculiar approach and definitely different than the rest of their signature films. A rather blatant, realistic story of romance which anyone could relate themselves with. A smooth story told from the perspective of the young protagonist which is nothing less and nothing more than absolutely fine.
Classmates
A very simple romance story that will leave a smile in your heart. Love knows no gender, it needs no rule.
The Garden of Words
Phantasmagorical, that how I will describe the animation and visuals of this anime movie. With a very realistic and simple approach, The Garden of Words is a magical experience with only the rain as the sole witness of so many enthralling scenes that unfold in this story. A love story couldn’t be more magical than this, it couldn’t be more romantic and ambiguous than this.
Howl’s Moving Castle
A literal fantasy story in our list, who wouldn’t fall in love with Howl? Yet, what’s more magical is the story that unfolds between her and Sophie; and the series of events that took place in this movie are truly enjoyable and lovable. Every seconds truly counts with so much entertainment factor and plot that will make you laugh and fall in love.
I’ve Always Liked You
Everyone is in love, this may be your typical romance comedy anime movies. However, it thrive on the fact that it is simple and pretty generic on which any viewers could relate themselves with any characters in the story.
Hal
An anime story that will help us to move forward despite of our lost and make us fall in love with life once again.
From Up on Poppy Hill
This one of the my personal favorite movies from Studio Ghibli and no matter what the critical reception is, I’ll be on favor of this soothingly cute anime movie. A charming story of family, friendship, determination, and romance with solid beautiful animation and relaxing ambiance.
