First Look at Makoto Shinkai's "Weathering With You" and it's Truly Magical

A set of pictures depicting some of the actual scenes for the upcoming anime film "Weathering With You" had been by unveiled by Your Name. director Makoto Shinkai.

On the official Twitter page of Weathering With You or also known as Tenki no Ko, or “Children of the Weather” - its director Makoto Shinkai had unveiled some of the actual scenes from the anime movie and it is definitely stunning and visually magical with too much emotional outburst in few images.

The first photo that we had is a shot of Hodaka Morishima basking in the rain happily. He is the male lead character of Weathering With You who runway from his town in rural Japan and found a work in Tokyo.

The next photo is a shot of Haruna Amano - she's the female lead character of the movie and guess what, she have a special ability to stop the rain and clear the sky by enchanting some kind of a prayer. Well, that's even make the film to be truly magical which will be emphasize by Makoto Shinkai's expertise in giving life to vividly beautiful visuals.

And the final photo is a visual of Weathering With You featuring the main protagonists of the story. Once again, Makoto Shinkai will use his visual signature - a vivid, high-contrast color design. We all know how good he is in making visually aesthetic imagery and animation and with the film revolving around one of our favorite element "RAIN", there's no doubt that this is going to be a fantastic anime ride again. If you had watched Garden of Words, an anime film by Makoto Shinkai way back on 2012, you'll understand how great his skills at animating beautiful shots of rain.

Tenki no Ko: Weathering With You Official Trailer Unveiled

Synopsis

High school student Hodaka Morishima leaves his home on an isolated island and moves to Tokyo, but he immediately becomes broke. He lives his days in isolation, but finally finds a job as a writer for a shady occult magazine. After he starts his job, the weather has been rainy day after day. In a corner of the crowded and busy city, Hodaka meets a young girl named Hina Amano. Due to certain circumstances, Hina and her younger brother live together, but have a cheerful and sturdy life. Hina also has a certain power: the power to stop the rain and clear the sky.

Weathering With You is scheduled for release on July 19, 2019 with Makoto Shinkai directing and writing the script. Kotaro Daigo and Nana Mori were cast as Hodaka Morishima and Haruna Amano respectively. Once again, this is another collaboration between Shinkai and CoMix Wave Films with Toho in-charge of the film's distribution. After the huge success of Your Name. in 2016, everybody simply look at Weathering With You with great expectation.
