The manga series was launched by Yana Toboso at Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine way back in 2006. It inspired three TV anime series and three OVAs. In addition, the manga also inspired a live-action film that premiered in Japan last January of 2014. The manga series also received musical adaptations which run across Japan, the third of which will hold its second run in the country as well as in abroad starting this November of 2015.
